It has been about seven years since I last played Skyrim. Just long enough that I've forgotten most of the major plot beats, as well as the side quests, allowing me to rediscover most of the game. An open world covered in snow and featuring sharp changes in elevation are enough to hook me for at least a few weeks. Despite how much I enjoy diving into complex mythologies, I often remember that I don't care much for the Elder Scrolls> lore. Until I am actively playing the game. At that point, when I don't have the controller in hand, I crawl through Elder Scrolls> pages on TV Tropes and its dedicated wiki.
