It took six years, but after near-weekly heckling (this is a slight exaggeration) from a friend, I have finally watched the movie Clueless.

I was raised in a very religiously repressive home, so my exposure to general pop culture in the 90s and early 00s was extremely limited. This was a movie that many people I knew had seen, but the extent of my knowledge was its poster. There are many films and TV series (and music) which I hope to get around to watching, but it often requires an external push.

Clueless was not as fantastic as had been hyped up by many people I know. It somewhat falls into the creepy flaw of many popular 70s and 80s comedies, which is that screenwriters in their 30s or 40s or 50s wrote countless stories about the sex lives of underage teenagers. But this was a relatively small problem—in that, it is a minor detail in the story, and never on-screen—so the movie was not nearly as bad as I expected it would be. It was also fun um seeing a dozen famous actors at the beginning of their careers.
