I finally pushed through my motivational block to watch another movie I haven’t seen yet, and settled on Mulholland Drive.
I deeply enjoy long, slow movies (e.g. Blade Runner 2049, Contact, The Lord of the Rings extended edition), and I like weird movies that require viewers to really pay attention to subtext (Under the Silver Lake, Beau Is Afraid).
Mulholland Drive might be right past the edge of either of those categories for me. It is so slow, so needlessly obtuse, that I had to take a break multiple times to reset my focus.
