In the 90s, a studio which owned the film rights to the Fantastic Four rushed a movie through production with a sub-million dollar budget. It never released in any official form, but bootlegs circulated. We’re talking about a very obscure movie seen by only a tiny, niche community for decades.

As far as I know, other than whoever animated the CGI, I may be the first person to have noticed this movie flatout stole a scene from a 1941 Superman animated serial film, which I happened to watch on VHS as a kid.

I don’t know how you trace with CG, but the Fantastic Four animator(s) did it.

I guess it could be an ‘homage’.
